Elizabeth Wambui is an immigration practitioner and independent researcher whose work bridges the gap between theoretical migration policy and on-the-ground border administration across Africa and the Global North.

Research Focus

Her research examines migration governance, border politics, deportation and return, citizenship and belonging, and the lived experiences of migrants and refugees. She combines practitioner-informed case studies with rigorous academic analysis to challenge conventional assumptions about migration and border control.

Current Work

Elizabeth is the Founder and Director of Pathways of Promise Kenya, an NGO dedicated to supporting the welfare of children of incarcerated mothers. She also leads Millennia Immigration Consultancy, which provides on-the-ground immigration consulting and serves as the institutional sponsor of her research.
